South African Council of Churches

The South African Council of Churches (SACC) is an ecumenical association comprising affiliated Christian churches, church blocs such as the Evangelical Alliance, the Council of African Independent Churches, and the International Federation of Christian Churches. Its mandate is to lead unified Christian action that serves as a moral witness in South Africa.

The SACC does not exist to promote or advance any specific doctrinal position. Instead, it provides a space for diverse interpretations of faith to converge in the pursuit of social justice. The Council strives to achieve a tangible and just socio-economic and ecological impact, driven by engaged churches-in-community, for a reconciled South Africa and the broader sub-continent.
